Education at Christians

C.B.C. was founded in 1888 at the invitation of the Bishop of Cork, Most Rev. Dr. O'Callaghan. The College is now recognised as one of Ireland's leading educational establishments.

The educational programme of C.B.C., so successful over the years, introduces the pupils to the ideals of the Christian values, personal integrity and a disciplined approach to living. Our programme is designed to promote the goal of academic, cultural and sporting excellence in a thoroughly Catholic atmosphere. The quality of the education received at C.B.C. has been for generations of pupils a stepping stone to success in their careers. The College is proud of its record in the placement of pupils in University and Third Level Colleges, and in careers in Public Service, Commerce and Industry.

This success is evidenced by the outstanding achievements of past pupils in the professional and business spheres. 'Christians' is equally proud of the worldwide contribution made by those who have followed their vocation in the Priesthood and Religious Life.

We are confident of continuing this record of achievement in the new Christian Brothers' College.

Religious Education

In our Religious Education Programme we endeavour to develop in the pupils a mature Christian commitment based on the study of Catholic Doctrine and Liturgy.

Daily prayer in the school is a long established custom in Christian Brothers' College. Class and School Masses, Confessions, Annual Retreats and charitable activities are all integral parts of our Religious Education Programme.
